*Note: This page is under development and subject to change. Naviate Fabrication v3.12 is still in progress and details may be updated before release.

Release includes [N] Fabrication v3.12

Settings Manager

[N] Fabrication has several Settings/Options that require time to set up per company standard, jurisdictions, and project. While a BIM Manager is able to set some of these Settings once in a template file, there currently is not a solution that can export or import these Settings in one workflow, without having to open each Naviate command separately and import and export. This workflow can become quite tedious and time-consuming, especially if this setup is required for multiple new or existing projects.

With v3.12 of [N] Fabrication, the new Settings Manager command will allow you to Import and Export multiple Naviate Fabrication/MEP Settings in one batch process.

Result

Upon a successful import using Settings Manager, Naviate will display an 'Import Complete' notification message, listing the Settings that were imported to the active model. See Figure 3.

Advanced Renumber - Improvements

The existing Advanced Renumber command (also now available in [N] MEP!) has been undergone several improvements:

  • Added new feature to Renumber by Along Connected Run.
  • Added ability to Select Elements in View by a 'Manual Selection' Filter without closing Dialog.
  • Parameters/Columns added to the dialog by user are saved for next time command is launched.
  • UI Updates including button overhauls.
  • Performance updates including no longer selecting all elements in the Setting after closing the dialog, disabling the ensuing Zoom Extents, and disabling unnecessary highlighting of selection candidates.
  • Manual Selection of elements for a Setting has more flexible selection options (single, multiple-window select, or multiple via one-by-one select).
  • If dialog is closed, dialog will return to the previously highlighted Setting on next open.

Advanced Renumber - Import/Export - Improvements

  • Import/Export workflow now supports and will also include associated Naviate Filters, provided they are set correctly to the individual Settings.
    • Note: With v3.12 installed, Advanced Renumber Export files from v3.11 and prior will not import the associated Naviate Filters. Please re-export your Advanced Renumber Settings with v3.12 installed in order to include the associated Naviate Filter.
  • Additionally, if Advanced Renumber Import cannot find the exact parameter (based on Element ID, GUID, etc) match between the project and the import, it will fall back on the Parameter name match to build Advanced Renumber Setting.

Spool Manager - Improvements

  • Update Continuation Tags Button has been restored.
  • Spool Manager now opens as its own separate window in the Task Bar.
  • Structural Connections is added as an available Category during Spool Creation.
  • Schedules are now placed precisely on the border of Titleblock, with Schedule stacking available when set to duplicate 'Top' and 'Bottom' placements.
  • Spool View and their associated View Titles are improved to no longer overlap.

Continuous Modeling commands

Existing modeling commands now run continuously until the Esc key is pressed. Toggle this ON/OFF in [N] Fabrication Settings or [N] MEP Settings.

As an example, see below for a demonstration of Continuous Modeling with the Move Connect command.
