Naviate Cloud Manager v2.12.26 Release Notes

⚠️ Action required to upgrade to v2.12.26

If your organization uses offline Naviate Cloud Manager licenses, you must deactivate them to access the application with an online license after upgrading.

From v2.12.26, the Naviate Cloud Manager desktop application requires an online Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) or Pro license. Offline licenses must be deactivated so that they can be used as online licenses. Until they are deactivated, the offline license will use a license seat.

Instructions: Deactivate offline Naviate Cloud Manager licenses for online use

Also required for automation jobs: Upload, Download, Publish and Export jobs will not run until a Naviate Cloud Manager Agent License is set up OFFLINE in the Symetri Toolbox. Set up the Naviate Cloud Manager Agent License

See Licensing changes in v2.12.26 for full details.

New home for Release Notes - "What's New"

Naviate Cloud Manager release notes have moved to this page. "What's New" Release notes for earlier versions remain available on the archived versions of the help documentation pages. Help.BIMrx.com/ As this is the first release published here, these notes summarise the full product as it stands in v2.12.26 and summerizes the changes from 2.9, 2,10, 2,11 and 2.12. Future release notes will cover only what has changed.

This release covers Naviate Cloud Manager v2.12.26 (formerly BIMrx Cloud Manager), available for download at My Symetri → Applications.

Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) has been renamed Forma Data Management. These release notes use the new name.

Licensing changes in v2.12.26

v2.12.26 changes the required license type from "offline" or "online" to "online" only to access the Naviate Cloud Manager desktop application user interface. Please read the three changes below before updating, because scheduled automation jobs will not run until the new Agent License is set up offline.

Upload and Download jobs are now included in Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard)

Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) now includes Upload and Download automation jobs. Standard users can schedule file uploads, download syncs, and archive snapshots across multiple projects without a Pro license.

Automation job Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) Naviate Cloud Manager Pro
Upload ✓ ✓
Download (Sync Download and Archive Snapshot) ✓ ✓
Publish – ✓
Export (PDF, NWC, DWG, IFC) – ✓

Automation jobs now run on a Naviate Cloud Manager Agent License

All automation jobs (Upload, Download, Publish and Export) now require an offline Naviate Cloud Manager Agent License, set up with the Symetri Toolbox. The Agent License is issued alongside your Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) or Pro license.

The agent is the background service that runs your scheduled and deployed jobs. A dedicated offline license means jobs no longer depend on the online license used by the desktop application.

Please note: Automation jobs will not run until you set up the OFFLINE Agent License with the Symetri Toolbox. Set it up on each machine that runs Cloud Manager jobs. including network servers that jobs are deployed to.

Set-up instructions: Set up the Naviate Cloud Manager Agent (OFFLINE) License

The desktop application now requires an online license

The Naviate Cloud Manager desktop application now requires an online license: either Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) or Naviate Cloud Manager Pro.

If your organization uses offline Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) or Pro licenses, you must deactivate them so they can be used as online licenses.

Please note: An offline Standard or Pro license cannot be used to open the desktop application until it has been deactivated and is available as an online license.

Instructions: Deactivate offline Naviate Cloud Manager licenses for online use

Trial licences

When you sign in to your My.Symetri user account to use Naviate Cloud Manager, it checks for a license. Without a valid license, Cloud Manager offers you a trial license if one is available for your company domain. Gmail and other non-commercial emails can not start a trial. Trials are tracked by your my symetri user account and only available once per orginazation. If no trial is available, Cloud Manager tells you that a Naviate Cloud Manager (Standard) or Pro license is required. Contact our sales team if you are interested in a guided implementaion and proof of value (POV) for your organization.

Members module improvements

The Members module has been substantially reworked across the v2.12 releases to handle large hubs, update members without overwriting their existing settings, and find the right projects and people faster.

Find the right projects and people faster

  • Filter, search and select projects by Job Number, as well as by Project Name.
  • The project search-select tool matches project names using Contains or Exact Match, with an optional Match Case.
  • Filter hub members by account access level, including Account Admin, Project Admin, Project Member, Standards Administrator, Executive and Not Invited.
  • Filter projects and members by platform: Both, BIM 360 or Forma Data Management (Formerly ACC). The filter option is labeled ACC in the UI.
  • Select All now applies only to the members shown by your current filters.
  • Selected members stay selected when you change filters or switch between the Hub Members, Project Members and Multiple Project Members tabs.

Update members without overwriting what's already set

  • Keep Current options for company, role and Forma Data Management product access let you update one setting on a member without resetting the others.
  • Company assignment offers Set Default for Member, No Company for Member and Keep Current for Member; role assignment offers Default, No Role and Keep Current.
  • Forma Data Management product access now mirrors the layout used on the Autodesk website, and invalid product access combinations can no longer be selected.
  • Forma Data Management product access can be set directly, without first creating a product access template.
  • Remove members from one or many projects in a single operation.

Built for large hubs

  • Project and member data is cached per hub, and each project shows a Last Updated date, so lists load from cache rather than reloading every time you select a project.
  • Cached data refreshes only when you add, update or remove members, or when you press a refresh button.
  • Separate refresh buttons for projects, hub members, project members and the roles list.
  • When you load members for 10 or more projects in Multiple Project Members, Cloud Manager tells you it may take a moment and lets you cancel.
  • Bulk member imports retry automatically (up to three times) when Autodesk rate limits are reached, with each attempt recorded in the log.
  • Large bulk add, update and remove operations now support tasks that take greater than an hour to process.
  • Projects where Docs is disabled are skipped and logged, rather than causing the update to fail.
  • Archived projects no longer appear in the projects list.
  • Faster loading when opening the module, and no typing lag in the project name filter.

Access control

  • The Members module follows Autodesk admin rules: you need Account Admin or Project Admin access on the projects you manage.
  • If you have no admin access on the connected hub, Cloud Manager tells you why the module is unavailable.
  • Add Hub Members is available only to Account Admins.

Automated publishing in Naviate Nebula

A new version of Cloud Manager's Publish jobs is now available in Naviate Nebula. Nebula Publishing Tasks launched in beta in August 2026 and has been updated frequently since. It publishes cloud workshared and cloud-saved Revit models directly to versioned files in Autodesk Forma Data Management projects, running on Nebula's cloud-based infrastructure. It adds advanced dynamic filtering and an improved web application interface.

All Naviate Cloud Manager customers now have access to Nebula. To get started, see Getting Started with Naviate Nebula Access for Cloud Manager customers.

Please note: Publish jobs remain available in Naviate Cloud Manager until October 15th 2027, there is 1 year as of this release to migrate existing Publish automation jobs to Naviate Nebula Publishing Tasks.

What Naviate Cloud Manager does

Naviate Cloud Manager saves time managing Forma Data Management (Formerly ACC) and BIM 360, so your team can spend less time on administration and more on higher-value work such as digital transformation and sustainability.

The Autodesk web interface manages one project at a time. Cloud Manager is a desktop application that works across many projects at once. Project creation, member management, publishing, exporting and file transfers are repetitive, time-consuming tasks when done project by project. In Cloud Manager they become bulk operations, or scheduled jobs that run without anyone at the keyboard.

Naviate is built by AEC professionals for AEC professionals. The team behind it are architects and engineers turned BIM implementation consultants, building tools for the problems they solved on real projects.

Naviate Cloud Manager Module Overviews:

Connect

One application for every hub you work on. Sign in once with your Autodesk account and manage projects across multiple hubs, including projects you have been invited to on other companies' hubs.

  • Securely connect to Forma Data Management and BIM 360 projects on multiple hubs with your Autodesk account, signing in through your default web browser (supports single sign-on).
  • Create Custom Connections using your own APS application credentials for hub-wide access.
  • Supports US, EU, UK, Germany, Japan, India, Canada and Australia hubs.

Please note: When you use the Autodesk Connection, Cloud Manager shows projects on a hub only when both of these are true:

  • You have been invited to at least one project on that hub.
  • An Account Admin of that hub has added the Naviate Cloud Manager app to the hub.

If a hub or its projects don't appear, check both with the hub's Account Admin. Instructions for Account Admins: Add the Naviate Cloud Manager app to your hub

Projects
(Bulk Project Creation)

Set up projects in bulk, with a consistent structure from day one. Creating projects one at a time on the web is slow and repetitive. Cloud Manager creates them in bulk from a single Excel template, then applies your folder structure to all of them in one step.

Cloud Manager templates include files as well as folders, and you can apply them at any time, not only when a project is created. The same tool sets up new projects and pushes updated folders and files to projects already under way.

  • Create multiple Forma Data Management and BIM 360 projects at the same time from a single Excel project template.
  • Create Forma Data Management projects in bulk from Forma Data Management template projects, or assign products to each new project.
  • The project template contents are validated when loaded into Cloud Manager Projects Module, and any projects that can't be created are flagged with the reason.
  • Copy template folder structures, including files, to multiple projects at the same time, at any point after the projects are created. This assists with evolving project folder structure standards.
  • Copy folders and files from one project to multiple projects.

Files
(Bulk Uploads)

Keep local and cloud in step, without the guesswork. Hybrid browsing shows your local and cloud folder structures side by side. Intelligent upload sync versions only the files that have actually changed. The cloud stays tidy, version history stays meaningful, and an out-of-date file never replaces a newer one.

  • Browse your local folders and your Forma Data Management and BIM 360 folder structures side by side.
  • Intelligently sync local folders and files to and from Forma Data Management and BIM 360. Upload sync creates new versions only for files modified more recently than the cloud copy, so you avoid unnecessary versions and never overwrite a newer file with an older one.
  • Upload multiple projects between your network and Forma Data Management or BIM 360, with granular control over what is transferred.
  • Connect teams working on the local network with teams working in the cloud.
  • Long file paths are supported.

Browse
(Bulk Downloads, Publishing, and project folders and continents browsing)

On-demand access when you need it now rather than on a schedule.

  • The Project Browser lets you publish and download Forma Data Management and BIM 360 project content on demand.
  • Connect teams working on the local network with teams working in the cloud.
  • Browse Forma Data Management and BIM 360 project folders and folder contents, see meta data on files for version number, upload date, current version size, and uploaded by.
  • Export CSV / Excel file with selected project's folder and file metadata (version number, upload date, current version size, and uploaded by).

Members
(Bulk Memeber Management)

Add people to many projects in one pass, not one project at a time. On the Forma Data Managment web site, adding a team means typing the same email addresses into project after project. In Cloud Manager you select the projects, filter the hub member list to the people you need, and set their company, roles and product access. Then you apply it to every selected project at once. Controlling who has Project Admin access across your projects takes a few clicks.

  • Add multiple users to multiple projects at the same time.
  • Set users' companies and roles across multiple projects.
  • Add users to Forma Data Management project products in bulk, using product access templates or direct selection.
  • Add groups of users quickly by filtering the hub member list by email domain, current project, access level or Job Number.
  • Update and remove members across multiple projects.

See Members module improvements above for what has changed in the v2.12 releases.

Jobs
(automation)

Set it up once and let it run. Scheduled jobs take routine data management out of your team's day. A current set of drawings can be waiting for review every Monday morning. Models can publish overnight, and project data can be backed up to your network on a regular schedule. Dynamic filters pick up new projects, folders and files as they are added, so a job you set up today still covers the projects you start next year.

Schedule jobs to run daily, weekly or monthly, or run them on demand. Jobs can run on your own computer or be deployed to a network server, so they keep running when your computer is off. An email notification with the job log is sent when each job completes.

  • Upload: automate uploads from your network to multiple Forma Data Management and BIM 360 projects, optionally limited to files modified within a set number of hours.
  • Download: automate Sync Download or Archive Snapshot backups from multiple projects to your network, with a optional Modified Within _x_ Hours filter and an additional option to download everything on the first run.
  • Back up projects you have been invited to on other companies' hubs to your own network, and on to your own company's hub.
  • Publish (Pro): automate publishing of multiple cloud workshared Revit models across multiple projects, with or without links. Only cloud workshared models on active projects are processed. Publish jobs remain available in Cloud Manager; see Automated publishing in Naviate Nebula above for the new Nebula Publishing Tasks.
  • Export (Pro): automate exporting PDF, NWC, DWG and IFC from multiple Revit models across multiple projects, without needing to publish first, so a current set of drawings and coordination models is ready for review without anyone opening models by hand. Export jobs support Revit 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. Requires Naviate Core.MEP.Fabrication v3.13.0; see Before you run Export jobs below.
  • Replace files in the same folder: select this option in the export settings to overwrite the previous output in the same folder on every run, so the latest PDF, NWC, DWG or IFC files are always in one fixed location. Leave it unselected to save each run's output separately. When files are replaced, the job log records it.
  • Target projects, folders and files with static selections, or with dynamic filters (Contains, Not Contains, Starts With, Ends With) that pick up new projects, folders and files as they are added without needing to update the job.
  • Job logs record what was processed, what was skipped and why.

Please note: All automation jobs now require a Naviate Cloud Manager Agent License (v2.12.26 or newer). See Licensing changes in v2.12.26 above.

Before you run Export jobs: install Naviate Core.MEP.Fabrication v3.13.0

Export jobs in Naviate Cloud Manager Pro use the Naviate Core, MEP and Fabrication Revit add-in to open each model and export the targeted views and sheets. For Naviate Cloud Manager v2.12.26, the current version is v3.13.0, delivered as an additional single installer: Naviate Core.MEP.Fabrication - V 3.13.0.msi. It must be installed on every machine that runs Export jobs.

To download and install the add-in:

  1. Go to My Symetri → Applications and sign in with your Symetri account.
  2. Download Naviate Core.MEP.Fabrication - V 3.13.0.msi.
  3. Install Revit versions needed, 2021 through 2026.
  4. Close Revit on the machine where you are installing.
  5. Run the Naviate Core.MEP.Fabrication - V 3.13.0.msi installer. When prompted, select every Revit version (2021–2026) you will choose in your Export jobs.
  6. Repeat on each machine that runs Export jobs, including any network server that jobs are deployed to.

Please note: Export jobs will not run if Naviate Core.MEP.Fabrication is not installed with Revit for the Revit version selected in the job. Naviate Core MEP Fabrication v3.13.0 is the current version at the release of Naviate Cloud Manager v2.12.26. When you update Naviate Cloud Manager in the future, check its release notes for the add-in version to install alongside it.
